The Porsche Carrera GT is the successor of the Porsche 911 GT1 Straßenversion. The car itself is powered by a modified 5.7L V10 engine made for Porsche by the Footwork Formula One team. Porsche originally planned to produce 1,500 but the plan was discontinued in 2006 due to new airbag regulations in the United States.
