Aston Martin (full name Aston Martin Lagonda Limited) was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Richard Bamford. The manufacturer is based in Gaydon, Warwickshire and has around 1,250 employees. The brand is currently owned by David Richards and co-owned by the Italian company Investment Dar and business man John Sinders. The name "Aston Martin" is derived from the co-founder Lionel Martin and from a speed hillclimb located in Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire.
